| No, gorillas are not carnivores. In fact, they eat no meat and are strict vegetarians...those teeth are for tearing off bark from trees and shredding bamboo and other foliage to eat. Their jaws are very powerful as well. The muscles in their jaw all connect on the top of their head, adding to the nice big crest they are often famous for. Gentle giants? Of course!! But not if you are a plant :)
