large product photo   Phoebe

Scary rottweiler you might think? Hardly. She's more likely to invite you into the house and show you around. Phoebe was found hanging out at a gas station where she had been seen for a couple days. Curled up between the gas pumps, she was pretty pathetic looking. Not wanting to take her to the pound for fear that they might take one look at her and put her to sleep because of her breed, she came home with me for the weekend while I tried to contact rescue groups that might take her.

After about 7 months, gaining 10-15 lbs, lossing the fleas, growing in a healthy coat, battling through a terrible case of heartworms, learning that cats are our friends and the small old dog can have the rawhide if she wants it...Phoebe is now a permanent part of the family.

Robin

Robin, an Australian Terrier, was one of my oldest friends. My mom owned her mother, so I had her since birth. She passed away several months ago at the ripe old age of 14. In the last couple months she had become blind and mostly deaf...but continued to run the house. Phoebe always listened to her and stayed out of her way, as did Thomas. All who knew her would tell you she was MY dog. She would only ever really listen to me (much to my parent's dismay while I lived away from home for college) but we got along wonderfully. She will be missed.

Thomas

Thomas joined Robin and I my first year I lived in TX. The first day that I brought him home from the pound he became incredibly sick and spent the first week at the vet. It was terrible. Even when I finally brought him home my roommate and I had to force feed him to keep him going as well as give him daily injections. Turns out he was alergic to the medication he was on! Now Thomas is robustly healthy :) He spends his days sitting in the window watching neighborhood cats and birds, and occasionally gets down to tease poor Phoebe who would really like to chase him but knows she's not allowed.
